i’ve always known

that you were mine,

-yet i share just the same

as you and i turn round the sun

i see the way you circle me

i can only kiss one cheek

never will i see the other side

of my beloved moon

i long to know the nape

of your neck

but as i spin i propose this earth—

every ocean waves at you

all the mountains smile

but the canyons cry

i’ve always known

that you were mine,

still i wait, tethered

never will i let go

till next our love

will shade again
