Paint the Streets with Kindness

Over on the street corner

stand and play a violin—

oh, a melody of glee

for those whose lives

have skipped the joy.

Over on the street corner

recite poetry for the weary—

take a few sandwiches,

bottles of water—and

don’t forget dessert.

Over on the street corner

sit with someone—

acknowledge their fears

watch the tears overflow,

as they win back joy.

Over on the street corner

swap out your footwear—

walk in their shoes.

notice that he is your father

your mother, your sister,

your son, your daughter.
